it is very improtant to clean all sealing surfaces with alcohol prior to assembly... if there is any oil residue it will not seal... i had a similar leak on the rear... my oil prssure sending unit was leaking down the back of the engine.... if yyou get it sealed good you should and will almost...

sometimes the gear can stick.... did you use lock tight on the treads? if you used to much and can seep between the gear and the pump and majke it hard to remove. if you have all 6 fastners out ( 3 bolts and 3 nuts) take 2 pry bars and gently and evenly pry between the pump and front...

your ALT 1 is not getting excctied to charge... check at the two wire plug in that ALT and go from there... open up the chargin schematic and trace that circuit.
i just would not reccomend this.... there are to many manual things to do when starting these trucks... glow plug cycle stepping the the throttle for the cold idle curcuit to work right... sure would be great but i just dont think it would be a good idea.
