    M915A2 M915A3 Freightliner Tractors?

personally with the experience ive had with about 40-50 of these i would always go for anything BUT an A4, there were so many issues it wasnt even funny. But sometimes you do get lucky and find a gem out of all the junk

M923A1 front hubs smoking and air pressure in gas tank question

Treadle valves have indicators of failure as well. Air slowly leaking out of the air intake etc. never hurts to run through something as crucial as brakes and wheel/hubs

    925A2 ctis problems/hub air seals

Just make sure the seals are the correct ones, front and rear, facing the correct way and seat in nicely. At our shop those were replaced every year during services

M923A1 front hubs smoking and air pressure in gas tank question

pulling the bearings isnt that bad, we do it single handed at the shop. Although it is easier with an extra hand

    M915A2 M915A3 Freightliner Tractors?

The M915A4 has a LOT of issues which is a reason the Army scraped the truck all togther and went with just rebuilding the A3. Sticking the older Cummins into a glider with a brand new allison and bolting on AC DIDNT work at all. My unit alone blew 12+ headgaskets within the first year of unit...

    M915A2 M915A3 Freightliner Tractors?

FYI The M915A4 were the glider kits and they also as of 2012 have a zero MEL, so those rebuilds should show up within a year at auction places. i persomnally would never want one but i work on em everyday so im bias..lol The A5's on the other hand are a nice vehicle, well built ride nice sound...

looking for a CDR valve for a HMMWV

honestly we only rag clean em..in as far as you can. dont use any solvent on them,it will mess up the diaphragm inside. if its heavily soaked in oil then ditch it

    My dad's new FMTV...

old thread i know but i am military and work on these things everyday for the Department of defense and can personally tell you there reliability is horrible. They have more electronic issues then anything we have ever seen before. Most going back to the battery distribution box but others as...

    Which FMTV is this?

the newwer 100K gens are nice. Digital, easy to use and maintain. The older MEP- 007B's now have a zero MEL on them so they should start showing up allot at auctions soon.

    My dad's new FMTV...

There not a combat vehicle by any means, everything is electronic, nothing can maunally be over riden in emergency situations. So to take it and field it in a war zone is rediculous. We have a few in my unit but my shop supports a ton and believe me im ALWAYS inspecting them.battery distribution box...
