    MRS 1952 heavy haul

I had an older gentleman come by yesterday and wanted to know if I could find a picture of a MRS, like the one he drove in France. Well, I had never heard of a MRS and certainly did not have a picture of one. However, I discovered that MRS stands for Mississippi Road Supply and that they...

    I think I want a wrecker

The ruts are hard for your neighbor to mow over also. As for justification for buying, if you have to justify it, you don't need it. I've never made a penny with mine, but I think it gets it's picture taken more than any other vehicle in a parade. Now that's worth something!

Trailer Lighgt hookup for M818 Tractor

Find someone with a wrecker with the clamp-on light setup. It will clamp onto the back of your trailer and then plug into your 818.

    Did I just break something?

I had pulled the 816 into the garage, nose first. When I started to back it out, I did not wait for the air pressure to build up before backing. There was a slight resistance, so I let out on the clutch a bit more. Thats when I heard a "ping" right before it started to roll backwards. Did I...

Baby got a new pair of shoes!

I haven't driven the truck yet. The local big truck supplier only had one left hand lug nut in stock, so I had to use what I had and just put the spindles on the rest of the bolts. It only has four real nuts on one of the wheels and I'm not going to drive it until the others come in. I...

    16.00-20 tire change

I just put seven new 16.00x20's on seven new HEMTT rims. That was a job. I can't imagine having to break them down first.

dismounting and then remounting tires...need help

Not to disagree with everyone, but my tire man says not to use soapy water. He says that it causes rust on the rims. Spring for the regular tire lube. Also, just playing around in the shop before my tire man came, I came up with using a pry bar to break the bead. If you drive the crooked...

Using a 5-ton to haul hay

It looks like he must have put something in the bed to stack the bails on above the sides of the bed, and I guess if you were only going to haul them "one wide" it would be OK.

Using a 5-ton to haul hay

The beds are really not big enough to make it a good hay truck. However, before you buy it, make sure that it at least has a "drop side" box. If not, you won't be able to use it at all.
