Hi gents. I went last week to do a pre recovery inspection on my latest addition to the family--a M923 and the batteries were so dead we couldn't even jump it. All it would do was click when we turned the ignition.
So I need some new batteries... My questions is since the two of the four are...
Hi Everyone,
I'm thinking about picking up a M872--the big ass flatbed trailer with three axles. Anybody have any idea if the military harness for the lights will work with a civilian semi tractor? I think I'm good on the air...
Anything else I need to worry about?
Thanks a lot.
Hey Gents,
I thought I'd continue a previous thread in a new one--for reference sake, it was titled "Don't Let Your Brother in Law Drive Your Deuce".
Here's the situation...
Three weeks ago my in-laws had a big mudding party in Texas. I had both of my deuces there and drove them hard--lots...
Hi Friends,
Well I was down in the country (Texas) for a big mud-bog party they were having and I loaned out one of my deuces for my brother-in-law to drive. He was tearing it up all day in the mud (the same thing I was doing in my other one) until the one he was driving "just stopped". I...
Hi Gents,
Anybody up near Hooks, TX that could pick a Deuce or trailer up during the week and hold it for me to come pick up on the weekend? I'd be willing to compensate for your time and effort.
Thanks tons and have a good night.
Donnie
Hi Gents,
I had a hub leaking from the inner side a couple weeks ago. I ordered the seals from OD Iron and read up on how to replace here.
Everything was going good until I tried to take the inner bearing off to pack it. It's not budging for nothing. I checked the other threads and no one...
Hey Folks,
Looks like the weather is going to be good along I-10. I think I'm going to drive Deuce No 3 to the farm from here (Baton Rouge) on Saturday. It's about 400 miles from here to Exit 674 (US-77) (about 1.5 hours west of Houston). I'm going all by myself with no chase vehicle...
Recovered Deuce No 4 last week. Thanks again to everyone on the site with the brake bleeding tips and advice--that pressure bleeder is magic. The ANG guys up there were great.
She has newer hoses, electric wipers, and really good tires.
She made it home fine. The brakes had definitely...
Hi Gents,
I've been researching the brake issue threads and can't figure this out so I thought I'd ask for input. I may or may not have a problem.
Here's the history:
Buckner Transport picked up my truck from Kennesaw GA about 4 weeks ago (they did an awesome job). After about 70 miles the...
Hey All,
Went up to Beauregard yesterday to prep a truck I won a couple weeks ago for recovery. I thought I'd fill everyone in.
Lots of trucks in lots of different conditions. All had great tires and soft tops (except one hard top). About 25% didn't have batteries. About 75% didn't start...
Gents,
Good evening.
I got my truck about two weeks ago from Kennesaw GA (Delivered by Buckner Transport--they did a great job). We knew it was going through a lot of oil and I've been trying to figure it out since I got it.
There was so much oil at first that I couldn't figure out where...
Good Evening Gents,
I just got back from Camp Beauregard checking out a Deuce I won prior to recovery later this week or next. Everything is great on it--it started right up.
Except... the brakes. It was wedged in between two other deuces, so I wasn't able to test them moving, but when I...
Hi Gents,
I've got a friend on the road in the middle of a 700 mile recovery. He just called me and told me it looks like there's oil on the outside of the hub collecting in the wheel. He said there's about half a quart.
I know the axles are packed with grease so that shouldn't look like oil...
Hi Folks,
I had the Deuce in the creek over Christmas and in an effort not to get stuck again (I was on my second run) smashed into some rocks. This is what happened (see pics).
Looks like I sheared 2 bolts and broke off the top forward tab of the bracket.
But shouldn't be too hard to...
Hi Gents,
I'm newer to the Deuce World and I've been looking at all the trucks on GL. From what I can tell there are two different types of compressors on the multifuel. One has a flatter top with a squiggle it it. The other one has more air fins on the top and what looks like five bolts...
Hi all, This is my first post so hopefully it isn't completely redundant, but I haven't been able to find help in any of the past posts.
Anyways, I just picked up my first duece here from Camp Beauregard in Louisiana. GL didn't give me any info on year or make. I'm trying to figure out...
